Post Office is good. Lloyds Bank is good (if you bank with them). I hear Nationwide is also good.
Check out Moneysavingexpert for details of annual world-wide policies from £23.

Besides the cheapest policies, there is also a tab for the top value policies.

You might ask yourself what the difference is between a £23 policy and a £100 policy (other than £77). From my experience is it mostly down to exclusions, and how easy it is to get a payment from the insurance company.

I have used one of the cheap annual world-wide policies (although did not make a claim), the reason being besides me being a tight-wad, if I was to loose all my luggage – it would not worry me unduly (Mrs Hymie would worry for both of us). But if I was to become hospitalised, and require repatriation that could cost many thousands of pounds, I would be very concerned (for both my health and wealth).

So I guess you make your choice, and pays your money.

Don’t forget your EHIC card for Europe – I reckon you might be better off using this in Europe, without the hassle of claiming off insurance (of course it won’t cover you for lost luggage).

I've used Fortis for the last few years. They are very good.
