My daughter is getting married in the Domincan Republic in October 2011 and I am requesting some advice in relation to timescales and legalising documents etc. A colleague said they were issued a check list from their tour operator (Thomas Cook) but Thomsons do not provide this and we are at a loss as to where to start!!! Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

have they paid Thomsons for a wedding package, or just the holiday.

I got married in the Dominican Republic (a very long time ago) and we were very well advised as to what we needed to do.

Yes they have paid for the wedding package but this only gives details for the wedding coordinator in the DR. They have contacted Thomsons for advice but they have not been very helpful.
we had to get sworn affidavits (for ID purposes) from a solicitor before we went, and had to be "resident" for a week before we could get married. this was 20 years ago, but there must be similar rules now.

I suggest your daughter or her partner get back on to Thomsons.
