Hi, time of year to look at holidays again! I would like to go somewhere in the UK. I live in Berkshire, so don't really want to go anywhere round here. ( a few hours away at least :))
Here are my requirements
1) i'm going to drive to get there
2) fancy a cottage, but could be persuaded to hotel/boat/other accommodation (but NOT a tent or caravan)
3) a mix of things to do but hopefully not loads of kids everywhere
4) either end of June or begining of july (so avoid english summer hols but no idea about N ireland/scotland/wales summer hols)
5) Nearish the sea i think in case we get really nice weather
So anyone got any recommendations?

Boating holiday on the Norfolk Broads. Absolutely perfect.
If you fancy a cottage I have used these before and can recommend them

We always have a week either in north Devon or Cornwall, Time seems to go much slower and we always have a relaxing time.
last year we stayed on a working farm, the farmer and his family stay in a big trailer home and rents his house out for the summer!
The kids loved it, we were welcome to walk around the farm and see all the animals.
feels a bit strange staying in someone else's home (they kept all there family photo's up etc) but i would definaltey recommend it.

Lots to see and do in North devon and some nice beaches too, although it does seem to rain a lot! but that could just be when I go!!!! (I'll give you the date so you can avoid:o))
Just ahd a look for the farm cottage we stayed in and its no longer on there:0(
It was near Appledore which is a lovely place.
And if you've never been I recommend visiting to Clovelly
