Hi, the Manchester Evening News Arena opened officially on Saturday 15th July 1995. It was built in anticipation of the Olympics 2000 bid, although that was unsuccessful!

Originally it was called the Nynex Arena after the telecom company which sponsored it. M.E.N. took over the sponsorship.
