Think 13a should read "crumbling Troy, up sticks rapidly" The last letters of the words spell gypsy.

I think Gypsy must be correct (I found it too) but am not sure why ?

As Valanne says - it's the last letters of the words in the clue. I think they've made a small mistake.

Can somebody please explain 8d to me if it is Rosary Ring? I get that rosemary is a herb and round is ring but why is em removed from rosemary and what does it have to do with hemp or a single decade?

em is the "essence" of the word "hemp"
