Arubans know that they live on an island with the best that Caribbean Sea and sand has to offer. There is something for everyone, with certain beaches regarded best for activities such as snorkelling, surfing, windsurfing and diving as well as great nightlife and culture in the capital of Oranjestad.

There is so much to do on this picturesque island you will run out of time before you run out of things to do. Aruba has 40 dive sites where visitors can look for at the many fascinating underwater creatures or beautiful colourful corals. The coral at De Palm Island is a great snorkelling hot spot where you are likely to witness some of the most spectacular sights – so grab your wetsuit and flippers and get ready for the experience of a lifetime.

Characterised by pastel-coloured gabled buildings, Aruba’s capital Oranjested has so much historical importance you will be drenched in ancient history and stunning architecture. You will also get the opportunity to get some insight into the local customs, music and cuisine. History is all about dates – so put this holiday adventure in your diary and label it fun. The capital is also famous for its shopping district, centred on Caya Gilberto François (Betico) Croes. So if while in the beautiful capital why not do a little retail therapy and pick up some holiday essentials or treat yourself to a new outfit to wear in the evenings when things really start to heat up.

Aruba’s principal attraction is its beaches; these include Arashi Beach, which is particularly good for snorkelling, Bucuti Beach, rated one of the top-nine beaches in the Caribbean and one of the best 100 beaches in the world, finally Spaans Lagoen and Commandeurs Baai, which are very good for windsurfing. Aruba’s constant trade winds offer ideal conditions for windsurfing and even kite surfing.

Out and about in Aruba:

Aruba's nightlife caters for a variety of tastes. There are several charming and exciting nightspots with dancing and entertainment as well as lively action-filled casinos where the atmosphere is charged with excitement and expectation.

There is no problem finding action packed nightlife when the sun goes down as the night grooves with 11 casinos and tons of clubs and bars. Things don't tend to get started until around midnight but partying often continues to the small hours of the morning. The highlight of Aruba’s nightlife is easily the casinos; most open from 11pm until the early morning, with a few opening 24 hours. Hotel bars usually offer live entertainment and most hotels run theme nights so you can join in the fun with a little fancy dress. Alternatively, there are several cocktail bars and nightclubs in Oranjestad where you can party the night away; or you could opt to join one of the party buses for a lively pub tour.

There is a variety of cuisine on offer on this wonderful island; such as Cuban, Brazilian, Italian, Japanese, French Caribbean and a huge variety of seafood. But you must sample some local specialities like pan bati -a pancake-like sweet bread, keshi yena -a brown sauced covered, spiced seafood or beef baked in a Gouda cheese shell or scavechi -marinated fish.

With the nickname Las Vegas of the Caribbean, it's is safe to say that in Aruba, casinos feature in the vibrant nightlife scene as well as the wonderful array of restaurants and bars displayed on the island. With so much to keep you occupied and entertained you won’t want to leave this enchanting island.
