Who organises airport transfers?

Stepping straight off the plane to your hotel would make for a pretty easy holiday commute – and a noisy one.

Many people like to start their holiday in a hassle-free way by arranging to be picked up and taken to their hotel, villa or house - this is known as an airport transfer.

For this reason, airport transfers are a feature of most people's trips and there are a number of options available to those eager to get out of the terminal and onto the beach as quick as possible.

Many package holiday operators can include a transfer in the overall cost of their trip, but do not take this for granted. If you do book with a travel agency then make sure you read the small print and try to get an airport transfer arranged for you and your family.

A representative usually meets passengers straight off the aircraft and guides them to a coach which then stops off at each customer's hotel - this can be a great way to get to know your fellow holidaymakers and start some friendships.

Checking the small print can be important here, however – some firms could charge a large fee for a relatively short drive and since it's often optional, you can request it be taken from your bill.

In many countires, taxis are often a very cheap option for getting around. It's often the case that the airport parkway is full of taxis each wanting your business, so haggling a cheap price can be an easy task if you know what to do.

It may be worth remembering that just because you have chosen to fly or rent accommodation with one firm, does not mean you cannot book a cheaper transfer with another.

Arranging a transfer with a private organisation that specialises only in these types of trips could be a wallet-friendly option.

Being savvy and using an internet search engine to find a company operating at your destination could help you spend your money on the more important things on your holiday.
