Will it EVER stop raining? Just got back from town, jeans soaked, almost could empty water out of shoes - puddles were so big on the pavements! Can't remember a Summer as bad as this, can you?

Went to the allotment today - in Essex - bad move! My husband emptied about 8 gallons of water from paths - slabs squelched as you walked on them, and the wooden paths are just lying in water. The ground is so waterlogged, being clay, that it is not soaking in at all, just lying there! The crops are hardly growing, except raspberries, of which we have a bumper crop. I know it is a real pain to keep on having to water the crops, but enough is enough. Please come back sunshine!
