lovley Perth..great shops...we usually stay in Comrie ..nice and quiet and come into Perth to shop and eat...
MM I am north of Inverness,I was just going to ask Wolf the same question as there are so many place regarded as the Gateway nowadays!
Inverness is one of my most fav places .stay opposite the Eden centre on Ness Bank..also pop up to Nairn for the golf !
vakayu - it's a phrase that I haven't heard in years. I worked in Inverness for a couple of months a few years back. It was a nice place - apart from an old shaky footbridge over the river. It would swing when we tried to cross it.


scariest bridge is in Pitlochry..rope bridge by the theatre development/explorer garden...EEK..it's 'orrible !
We should have a 'what part of Scotland are you from' section on AB. Och aye.
Lol Wolf we are made of stern stuff up here,it does make you feel a bit uneasy doesn't it,the shoogly bridge!MM Nairn is beautiful lovely beaches etc but it has gone downhill recently.
Are the Asher bakeries still going ? ..played golf with Jimmy's brother in Norwich and we had the use of a house in Nairn belonging to the family..last I heard Jimmy had also passed and the sons were running the shops
Me and my mate got a taxi in Birmingham. The Pakistani driver asked, 'What part of Scotland you boys from'?
'You what, we're not from Scotland, we're from Wales'
'Yeah, same thing, innit' he said.
I was asked in Norwich " which part of Wales are you from ?" I replied "the north bit..it's called Scotland " lol

I knew the Asher's in my youth MM yes still thriving,as you say the sons are now running it,two shops in Nairn and I think the same in Inverness and elsewhere.
Not asking for everyone to be a Henry Higgins but you'd think everyone could tell a Scotch and a Welsh accent apart.

lovely family..brother Robbie was a vet in Norwich..always had to have plasters in my golf bag for his many cat bites !! lol
