Saharan Dust

We are supposed to be getting some of this tomorrow. I remember when I was really young, I had a teacher who had a white Hillman Imp and she took us outside to show us the red dust that had settled on her car. I`m guessing that this was in the late sixties/early seventies. Does anyone else remember this?

yes, vividly. Here in Hampshire we get it much more frequently

This happens all the time - I remember a dear old chap down our road collecting dust that had fallen and showing that it was magnetic...meteoric origin? Dunno. Sometimes it's noticeable, sometimes not.
