Most of my hobbies, with the exception of crafting, take place outdoors.
Birding, cycling, walking....yes I know my long walks often end up at the pub for a pint, gardening......and a planned and delayed return to lawn bowls.......
If the weather we've experienced this past year...I think the summer was awful.....became the norm for Britain.....no real summers.....constant flippin' wind and rain......wet and grey winters.....no bright, frosty days to enjoy.....would it change your way of life?
How would you cope with dreary weather month after month?
Me....I would lose much of the enjoyment I get from my outdoor pursuits....in fact....I could become grumpy.....☺
Can't see that happening, gness. Mine are dog-walking and horse riding. I don't take much notice of the weather, it just is. But everyone seems happier with some Sun!
My main outdoor activities are Dog-walking, walking by myself for exercise, cycling and checking the shrubbery, (strange places shrubberies). If the weather is not good I just dress accordingly, it's not going to stop me doing anything but could well make it less enjoyable.
Most hobbies and activities can be done by dressing accordingly.....but isn't it so much nicer to go for an early morning walk....not have to keep wiping the bins....and end up in the sunshine in a pub garden.
Cycling against wind and rain takes away much of the pleasure if pleasure is your reason for cycling.....
Shrubbery stalking could have to be curtailed ....it's getting very soggy.... :-(
I could forgive Edinburgh for the rain....it had a cracking fabric shop last time I was there...x
Of course, Pixie......it does take longer......our priest used to get squiffy most nights then have to cross the bridge to get home....
He zigged to one side....bounced off the wall.....zagged to the other side and bounced off that wall......
We used to watch to make sure he didn't bounce over the wall....well, that and the fun of it......x
Can I tell my wheelie bin joke? Man to guy at rear of Chinese restaurant. "Where's your bin?"
"Me been to China"
"No, where's your wheelie bin?"
"Me weally been to China"
(sorry)
