This was real fun. I'd have struggled with the objects without Google (I understand that other search engines are available). The clues were generally fairly straightforward, though I was held up for a while by a couple. No problem with the grid-staring phase. Thanks, ML.

Once I had the theme, it only needed a quick flurry of changes, (always use a pencil), to some otherwise iffy answers, that I had concocted. Once again, Wiki is my friend. Thanks ML for a fun puzzle with an unambiguous finale.
Highly ingenious and most entertaining. Will double check a couple of the extra letters in the morning with a clear head - having deduced them (correctly hopefully) from the presumed Location. Thanks ML
Absolutely agree with earlier posts.
Sad to say goodbye to the thematic phrase.
Most of the clues would have been murder to cold-solve; we needed the 'letters towards' as they emerged at every stage.
Very entertaining, though some clues were much more obscure than the rest. Never have got to the end without Google. Thanks to Mountain Ledges.
Loved this one. Thanks ML for a very enjoyable puzzle plus the generous extra word in one of the Down clues!
Some very tough clues especially as unlike others it seems I had to cold solve most of them. Didn't have a Scooby about the theme until belatedly spotting the phrase which I'm ashamed to say I'd never heard of before. All very neat at the finish and totally unambiguous, but (and it's a big BUT) I don't think I could have finished this without Google & Wikipedia. Thanks ML, an education.
Enjoyable: I loved the construction.
Indeed, thank goodness for the internet. But that's what I love about the Listener - I learn about something different every week. Now back to last week's to see if I can make sense of the fourth instruction.
Grid filled yesterday but a complete brain fade about the resolution.

A good sleep led to a moment of "I wonder" followed by a quick wiki search and now all is complete.

Nice puzzle - thanks ML
Top quality puzzle, thanks Mountain Ledges!

I spotted the theme early on, and have visited the location, but the puzzle kept me going for another day with those tough clues.
I found this tricky, partly because I was expecting to find something that wasn't present. But what an enjoyable puzzle - and so much thematic material smuggled into the clues as well as the grid. Some of the surface readings and wordplays were very good indeed, I thought.
Didn't really do anything for me this week. However I do appreciate the construction.

I thought some of the clues didn't have the "tightness" to allow me to be confident the answer I had was the right one.

May just be me though... they can't all be brilliant in our eyes week after week.
A great puzzle. No problem with cold solving here: we started in the NW corner and carried on in a clockwise direction. There has been a run of very good Listeners lately and this was no exception. Thank you ML!
This was consistently enjoyable with a straightforward end-game, starting with the generous extra-letters phrase. It helped that I had visited both thematic locations. Google helped with the drawing but the other PDMs occurred intuitively. I agree that the clues were hard at first, but all were fair - with the sole exception of 27dn, which uses an indicator that I'd have hoped The Listener would discourage.
Strong construction and some disarming clues. Cheers ML.

Is it a numerical next week?
A very enjoyable workout - tough to get into the grid but once the NE quadrant had started to yield, everything flowed very nicely (with a bit of help from wiki to locate two of the three objects). As others have said, some really nice clues and lots of thematic material.
