Though, as i intimated at the weekend, not so glorious for me in recent years. Still, on the premise that you have to be in it to win it, i persevere, though i will only be staking a fiver a day unless the placepot tempts me - then the stake will be £6. So, worst case scenario is that i lose £30.

Hoping to get the meeting off win a winner and am relying on a stable who appear to win the opener every 'other' year, having won it 4 times in last 10 years - they won it last in 2016. Early post as i am finishing a job off today, hopefully in time for first race, but i often get the old, "While you're here, could you just?", so i may miss a couple of races :-(

Morning Ken. You're off the mark pretty quick this morning, I had a little wait for non runners and whilst doing so picked my "teams for the football season. Stoke, Portsmouth, Notts County and Wrexham for their respective divisions e/w acca, doubles and trebles. 5 days of brilliant racing to come then all roads lead to Autumn. It doesn't seem 5 minutes since last year's festival. Low stakes today with high hopes.

Wonders will never cease! 2 winners for a 72/1 double which gets me £15.80 giving my balance a much healthier look. Another winner would have been sweet, though:-/
