Cold Weather Payment

I have just heard from a greedy person that another winterfuel allowance will be paid because of the cold weather we had earlier. Never heard tell of that of it if it is true. Have you heard?

Cold weather payment is normal and is paid to all those eligible.
Doesn’t make them greedy.

If temperatures fall to freezing for 7 days (I think) in a row, the payment is made automatically...no greed involved.

when i mentioned the greedy person I did mean a person with loads of money and keeps wanting more - that's what I did mean

They will only get it if they meet the criteria

They need to be in receipt of benefits to get it. So if your friends have loads of money they won't get it.

There's no need to claim the Cold Weather Payment, it's paid automatically to folk who are entitled to it.

If the "greedy person" gets it, he or she is entitled to it.

JJ, if you truly believe this person has loads of money and is falsely claiming benefits, report them. They are stealing off you and me.
