Stupidly I had my emails open and there's been some s*** flying around at work. One of my patients who is due for surgery tomorrow got cancelled and he was the last person on the list who should have been cancelled, having been cancelled before and having waited over a year for surgery to go ahead as he had a heart attack in the meantime. I had no choice but to intervene really and I text my consultant and asked if he could get the man reinstated and cancel someone else. He's thankfully done as I've asked but the stroppy Nurse is now not a happy bunny because she feels like I have gone behind her back and questioned her authority. For Funks Sake - I'm on annual leave !! To be honest I doubt the cancelled lady's surgery would have gone ahead anyway due to serious concerns re cognition / recall which have only just come to light.
This morning I went for a newspaper, then got the car vacuum cleaner out and gave the car mats (and the boot) a jolly good clean. I haven't been able to do that for a good 4 months, as I have been busy with pruning a couple of trees. I must say, the car does look better for it. And then I helped Mrs. bb with some housework. Time for a G & T I reckon!
Busy here, Camborne for a photograph of a family shop - must send the sis a copy - Falmouth for the Mater and fairly 'inert and out of it' that we were - then Waitrose and the Cornish Food store, the latter with a lovely butchers. Lunch in their caff.
Back here to have a nap, catch up with e-mails, and have just prepped supper - duck breast and mush, Cornish red potatoes marinated in EV oil, balsamic and a hint of maple syrup, and then a largely green salad. Work later and double rates tonight....
