I Wonder Why This Number Is Rising So...

i had a lovely birthday yesterday! Quiet but lovely. And after all of your wonderful best wishes I actually heard from all 4 of my children - wonders will never cease lol ! My in-laws had bought me something I'd been looking at in a local garden centre - it's a huge clock for in the garden, as a fuature obviously but it is a real working clock. Looks like it's made from bricks. Very clever and I love it. In the eve MrSmow cooked for me, and no birthday cake but he'd got hot apple pie and cream! Yummy! So a great day indeed.
Today back to usual housework/work.........what are we all up to? I am missing summer already, well the tiny bit that we did have. I don't like damp, wet weather at all!!

Glad you had a good birthday yesterday (I think I'd prefer Apple Pie to cake).
Only thing planned is trek to P O to send recorded delivery letter. I might try a little light gardening if the weather holds (but rain forecast later), otherwise just plod through the day 😁
Due to visit friends this evening, only snag is that public transport so bad I have to rely on them for a lift home. Late evening bus services are hopelessly inadequate.
Take care now you're a year older 😁 😁 😁 😁 😁
Morning canary - yes I definitely prefer apple pie lol.
I was actually looking online at Moonpig (birthday cards etc) in Australia! Realised a normal posted card isn't going to get to a relative there and I randomly said I wonder is Australia does Moonpig? And it does lol. Just hadn't looked at prices yet!
Good morning, happy birthday for yesterday, I did not to get in much yesterday and missed the thread.
I am on top of the world today, after 1 further hitch yesterday we exchanged contracts. Now the hard work starts, we only have to weeks to completion and unfortunately loads on the calendar.
Getting flooded with e-mails from friends in the village and thanking us for what we have done. Hope that the people we are handing over to keep things going.
It's Devon here we come!!!
Morning Smow and others. I'm glad you had a good birthday, you deserve the treating and it was nice the kids all contacted you.
Good news , finally, about the move ubasses. I love Devon, we have had many a happy holiday in the South Hams and I lived there for a year when I was about 11yrs old, while my dad was posted to Christmas Island. We were due to go again this year but circumstance over took us.
Nothing much happening today, though OH is going to try and suss out parking for his trip on saturday when he is meeting up with a mate.
Hope you all have a happy day
Morning Smow and all. Glad you had a nice birthday and hope you are feeling better now as you have not be 100% recently. Sunny here, but quite chilly. Still I don't mind the cold so long as it does not rain. Having a day of sorting paperwork into new files as the old cardboard ones are falling apart. Waiting for new plastic ones to arrive from Amazon.
Late morning from me also. It's absolutely hammering down outside and I'm off out to meet a friend in town. I never go out when it's raining hard, so I had to dig my waterproof out late last night. Only to discover that the buttons that secure the hood were loose. Frantic search for needle and thread. It's been ages since I've sewn a button. Took longer to thread the needle than to sew the buttons on. Oh my eyes! 😆 🤣 😂
