Protaras, Cyprus in May
The holiday saga continues! My boyfriend and I have pretty much decided on Protaras in Cyprus for a week's holiday from 2nd to 9th May. Has anyone been at this time of year and can recommend what sort of weather we can expect? I understand this time last year was particularly cold. Everywhere online says the average temperature for May is about 25 or 26 degrees. I'm guessing it's the days in the later half of May that are pulling the average up, and wondered what the weather was like in early May. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Er,,,...Protaras is on the east coast of Cyprus; however, we're a small island and the weather doesn't usually differ much along the coast. Normally in early May you would expect daytime shade temperatures in the low to mid 20s (that would be around 30 deg in the sun) and be fairly confident that it won't rain. At the moment we're having a bit of a cool time; so far it's been the coolest and wettest Spring for many years here; we've had maybe 5 days without rain in the last 2 weeks and quite a bit of cloud, with temperatures only making the mid-teens some days. Having said that, you've still got another couple of weeks to go and it hasn't rained since Thursday.............
