OK I have np with that Fluff, just a term used up here, that's all
Here in Somerset/Devom boarder. snowed this afternoon but all gone now. Bleaching is a term I have never heard before, when it is snowing. What does everyone else say when the snow is on the ground.? We say it is pitching.
I just looked out the window, and believe it or not, it`s snowing (ever so slightly) in Bournemouth.
I say it is snowing, lilacben.. except it isn't. Car window is frosted up but it's been a lovely sunny day. Temperature about minus a zillion.
I'd never head the term 'bleaching' referring to snowing before.

I'd just use 'snow' and add dusty, light, heavy, storm etc. if necessary.

I knew what the OP meant though. :-)
we are having a small flurry of snow in the last hour.
are you like eskimos out there Naz, with 120 different words for snow?
Snowing in Dorset but very lightly - wasn't forecast until Tuesday.

Not a flake here in the Black Country..Only had one day of snow last year.
Must be all the toxic fumes that hang over us !
Really pretty snow scene Naz!....here in Porthcawl, we've had a flurry or two, and some drizzle, and now a hard frost!.....but that's all so far!........We are on the coast, so it shouldn't be too bad here!...........
