I saw this on the Beeb website yesterday, and I was intrigued by this strange and sad story, and I thought it might interest some of you on here :::

Awww, how sweet.
Maybe a childhood sweetheart?
Question Author
Well, the little boy was only 12 when he drowned in 1947 ( not far from where I live on the Gower ) so it could be a sweetheart I suppose. But these incidents have only been happening for the last 20 years. It must be very frustrating for his sister when these things happen.
I visit an 13y school friends grave, on sentimental journeys to Hampshire, & leave flowers anonymously. His parents are either elderly, deceased or moved on but he was an only child when he died accidentally. Ive never seen any other tributes to him. He is the root to my memory of the area.
Sweet and sad at the same time.

Maybe it's someone who has it on their conscience. Maybe the boy who suggested going into the water.
Simple.....Karl was 7 years old at the time and had he lived he would have been circa 80 years old.

We do not have details of his death, by that i mean there was no post mortem and we cannot rule out manslaughter or even.......MURDER.
Clearly he got into trouble in the water either accidentally or by another hand and drowned.

If there was a "culprit" who hadn't owned up, then this person could be in his 60's when he could no longer live with his guilt and hence tried to atone by attending the grave.

^^12 years old.
It's nicer to think it was the boy who suggested going in the water....

But I'm on your train of thought, Sqad.
Question Author
Sqad...all that is possible I suppose ( although he was 12 when he died)

I don't suppose we will ever know the truth, but how can you be sure there was no PM Sqad ? Not normally done in the case of an accidental drowning I presume ?

Sad story.

\\\but how can you be sure there was no PM Sqad ?\\

I can't.
Question Author
OK...I just thought that in a death by drowning, the Inquest verdict is nearly always "death by misadventure" and a PM is not normally done...perhaps I am wrong here though !
My friend was found hanged at his home by his parents. He was my first experience of death of someone I knew, hence my shock.
Intriguing, sad story - could also be sweet, perhaps one of the boys who survived and suffers from 'survivor guilt'? Lots of possibilities - I feel a short story coming on, thanks mikey!
