The 'Ponderables' section of the Sunday Express 'Did you know?" column often throws up some quite interesting facts and statistics. Yesterday's was no exception and i offer a couple here.

In order to mate, a male deep-sea anglerfish will bite a female when he finds her. The male will never let go and will eventually merge his body into the female and spend the rest of his life inside his female mate.

That second one sounds horrendous.

It gets worse, Naomi. Just googled said fish and discovered that, as it merges with the female, it looses it's eyes and all internal organs, except the testes. And a female anglerfish will carry 6 or more males on her body.

wow what a lady fish ! if you were one ladies who apart from your partner/hubby would you like to "join" you in there ? here goes .....Johnny Depp, Cillian Murphy[Peaky Blinders], Anson Mount and I quite like Common [[both from Hell on Wheels] and perhaps I will leave the last one for now ....
