I Need A New Mobile - Help Please
10 Answers
I urgently need a new mobile to keep in contact with a friend going on holiday.
Currently I have a Samsung smart phone that has died on me. On switching on it would forever keep rebooting and not go into operating mode. Now I know there should be a way of getting round this, but I'm told there is a problem, probably with the motherboard and is not repairable.
I accept this, and now urgently require a new mobile. I'm retired, and to be honest, I realise that a model that that makes and recieves calls and texts, possibly with a camera, would suit me fine.
Please bear in mind that regarding mobiles I'm one of the thickest people around. On my old phone I'm on one of O2 cheapest tariffs at 8.50p per month and would like to stay with them. I think what I want is a cheap phone, not neccessarily a smart phone, where I could just insert my existing Sim card.
Any advice please, bearing in mind that I'm not mobile phone savvy. Thank you.

I have a cheap 'emergency' phone I use when horse riding or walking on my own - it cost around £20 to buy and you can put your SIM from your smart phone in it. Best to go to an O2 phone shop and tell then what you are looking for and try out a few.

Try to do a factory reset on your phone. There will be instructions on how to do it for your particular model on the internet.
I had a relative who was going to throw away a Samsung Galaxy S2 phone a few weeks ago because of a similar problem to yours.
I did a factory reset and it reset everything back to factory settings and went into Android with no problems.
I was able to "rescue" loads of photos and videos off the phone for her, some of which were of her father who had just died. She was all prepared to throw the phone away.
Don't give up on it yet.
