I've got one of these instead - they don't have move when you're going down the bread aisle!

......or should that be toast aisle?
I've used a shopping trolley for years.....admittedly it's black and a bit blinged up. When you're five foot nothing carrying bags doesn't work....they drag on the floor......and limit how much you can buy on a shopping trip...

...I can get much more into a trolley and still strut the high street in killer heels...

...though Neti's solution appeals somewhat.....x
Spot on Sip, yes.

I have a snazzy blinged up trolley too, the go faster stripes means it outruns me.
I believe shoppers were given plenty of opportunity to prepare for 5p bags in the future. For some time Sainsbury's awarded nectar points to shoppers who used their own bags. There were reuseable sturdy "bags for life" at the end of every aisle. I do not think it was coincidence that Sainsbury's stopped awarding points for using your own bag and a couple of months later the 5p fee was introduced. You had your chance now you have to pay seems to have been their idea.
I thought it would make little difference, but in fairness I think it has
The bags Sainsburys for example are selling are comparatively tough ones, and the ones they used to give away, which were very useful for other purposes, are now no longer available. We have no other use for the stronger bags, except as re-usable shopping bags.

Mind you, it does seem strange that people would rather not fork out in places like Matalan, having already spent a lot on whatever junk they sell there.
Just shows our mentality when it comes to parting with money :-)
