Connection speed

Please can somebody help,this is driving me mad.I am having difficulty downloading from Imesh and Kaaza at speeds faster than 2kb/s even though I use a 1mb broadband connection.I use a laptop with 13 gb of free space,and a 2gb processor.I am wondering if people uploading from my computer has any affect on my download speed, or my CPU usage ,which always seems to be between 60 and 100 %.

Any uploads will reduce your available bandwidth, but the low download speeds are more than likely caused by the person you are downloading from. i.e. if they only have a 56K connection then the can only upload at relatively low speeds. Keep searching for the files you want and you should eventually find quicker sources.

Try using the "kazaa speed up.exe" to search for more sources.
