Madeleine Mccann Case: Police Team Cut To Four
http:// www.bbc .co.uk/ news/uk -346612 56
There many unsolved murders that the Police stopped investigating many years ago. While Madeleine may still be alive, and I hope she is, how much longer can our already over-stretched Police be expected to continue to put manpower into this investigation, especially given the huge cuts to Police budgets coming up shortly ?

Does the case for Madeleine deserve to be continued to conclusion? Yes of course it does.
But does that also apply to every other missing child in the word? That is a yes as well, it goes without saying.
So how and why does the loss of one child attract international media attention for years, when other children disappear all the time, and are never mentioned, much less have such resources devoted to finding them.
I find it baffling, and tragic, in equal measure - but the argument that such investigations as the police can complete have indeed been completed does add weight to the argument that a scale-down is appropriate.
