I am loath to give the real name of the above fast food establishment, in case it gives the Editor palpitations ! But I expect people can guess who I mean !

Anyway, I paid my first visit to one of these places today, and it will certainly be my last..... 3 pieces of skin and bone that was may once have been a chicken, covered with the greasiest batter I have ever had the misfortune to eat. The chips were cold and the tea wasn't much hotter. It all tasted like road-kill. Frightful !

Never again !

Prudie...I avoid Motorway Service areas as much as I can...I dash in..pee..and dash out again. But I wouldn't have thought they needed any more grubbiness !

There is a nice Service Area on the M6 oop north, near Cumbria, although I haven't been there for over 20 years.....can't remember its name.
Service stations have moved on leaps and bounds from what they used to be.

The good thing with service stations/airports is they are usually busy so the food is freshly cooked.

Ummm....have you noticed how expensive everything is at Motorway Service areas ?

I sometimes buy my paper there because they can't charge an exorbitant price for it, as they do for a Mars Bar, etc.

I had a book a few years ago, that I lent out and never saw again...something "five minutes from the Motorway"...something like that !

It gave details of all the places that served food at every junction, on every Motorway.

Here is a website that looks interesting ::::

Yeah...Really expensive, same as airports. We usually fly from Luton and they have an M&S so you can buy your drinks there and the prices don't seem to be much different.
"KFC can be hit and miss and you always feel dirty after eating it"

I will wait until KFC has an in-store franchise in Harrods Boo !
Mikey, the place you're on about is Tebay. And it's magnificent. Miles in front of all the others.

I am with Boo on this one.
We go to a cinema complex about 30 miles away a couple of times a year, and it is right next door to a KFC. Youngest Junior Overall always wants to eat there
The chips are grim but I actually like the chicken
You're fine if you don't have anything on the bone. The Zinger tower burger and popcorn chicken are great. And I only glow slightly in the dark.
