A friend of mine has a ford focus 1800cc petrol 80000 miles 2008. Apparently his flywheel disintergrated damaging the clutch and wrecking the gearbox. He is slowly getting it repaired but is having trouble finding a gearbox to fit apart from going to a ford dealer and costing the earth. Any replies from anywhere in Britain would be most appreciated. I personally have never heard of a disintergrating flywheel so I would be interested to hear any stories of such happenings.
i tend to use www.partsgateway.com . (sorry dont know how to create links) normally pretty good. the only time i've heard of this sort of problem on cars is with 'Dual Mass' flywheels. i've only heard of them on diesels though. you'll have to google them as i do not understand how it works.
For Paul1763:
Links are easy. Just go the relevant website, right click in the address bar and click 'Copy'. Come to an AB thread, right-click where you want the link to appear and select 'Paste'. (Put the link on a line on its own or otherwise ensure that there are no characters, such as a full stop immediately, before or after it):

^^^ What's needed is the 'htttp' bit. That's what tells AB's server to turn the whole thing into a link. With most (all?) browsers on a PC, copying the web address from the address bar automatically includes it, even though it's not actually shown in the address bar. However it might possibly be different when using an Android device or an iPad.
