Blister On Inside Lip

Ive had a blister on the inside of my lower lip for months. It fills up, pops, seems to disapear and then returns in exactly the same place. Any idea how to get rid of it? (or why it keeps coming back?)

Thanks for replies, but sqad, you got me worried now. Yes I drink sometimes, I havnt smoked for 10 months. Not going to bother overworked GP with a blister unless I thought it was something a bit more series.

My wife can also recommend Bonjela, as she has been troubled with a wisdom tooth that's trying to break through her gum. She bought her Bonjela at Tesco, and she says that it was a big help in relieving the soreness.

And I appriciate it. Just seems a bit much going to the Dr's with a blister, unless you think theres a chance it could be something more.

^^^Please note that Bookbinder's post seems only to refer to the basic 'Bonjela' (which has been around for donkeys' years and offers good pain relief).

However, in order to get ulcers/blisters to heal quickly, it often used to be necessary to buy an additional product to spread across the damaged tissue, in order to 'seal' it.

The manufacturers of Bonjela have now combined the two products into one, giving the world 'Bonjela Complete Plus'. It's that 'dual purpose' product that I've recommended, rather than just (ordinary) 'Bonjela'.

As Sqad indicates though, a 'just in case' check-up with your GP might be best:

In my teens though, I had a mouth ulcer that lasted for months and no amount of Bonjela (on its own) provided a long-term solution. It was only when my GP prescribed the 'sealing agent' (referred to above and now incorporated into Bonjela Complete Plus) that I managed to get rid of it. So it's possible that you might just be in a similar position. (However, as Sqad says, get it checked by an expert, just in case!).

Your dentist is the most appropiate person to see for a diagnosis.

My first thought is that is it a mucous retention cyst. Completely benign, often caused by trauma and just a 'bit of a nuisance' depending upon their location. If it is, they are usually best left alone. Products like 'Bonjela' will do nothing at all.
