Without God, where do atheists look for an objective moral authority to determine absolute right and wrong?

We all need God to have a personal relationship with Him.
However, if you do not feel that need, then so be it.
I have to say that many atheists are in my opinion, such good and generous altruistic philanthropic and charitable people, that they put a lot of us Christians to shame.
It is not about keeping score here
It is about, when pushed, what is the ultimate authority? To me it is God.
//what is the ultimate authority? To me it is God. //

Why? He was horrible.
If you are so morally weak that you need a God as a crutch - fair enough.

But don't keep bugging the rest of us with your shortcomings.

Yessim baas!
Theland, do please stick around long enough to answer my question at 23:20 Fri 30th Oct.
/We all need God to have a personal relationship with Him./

Nobody needs god though some may think they do. This is what comes of not paying attention to your science teacher at school.

Back tomorrow to look at your question.
Good. I look forward to it.
Theland we are not born with a set of morals , our morals are created by the culture into which we are born starting with our own family, whose morals were in turn , moulded , shaped, guided, influenced , and changed throughout their lives.
Your imaginary entity, God , is no help . Apart from no testable proof of his existence the God of the bible ( if he exists ) , enslaved all the animals to serve man including killing them for their skin to eat and as clothing.
What does that say about your God and us supposedly made in his image. ?

Your God repeatedly preaches violence as a method of imposing his will , when he's not using natural means , like floods , earthquakes , pestilence etc.

To answer your question :
As an Atheist I don't turn to your violent God. I look for the kindest examples in our societies.
