Christmas Cakes For Fruit Haters

Hi I am looking for cake ideas I can make for christmas. As I am not a fan of dried fruit I am wanting to make one I can still put mazipan amd icing on but without fruit. I dont want to just do a basic plain sponge one. Something that still as some of the christmas flavours thats in a normal christmas cake.

I'd suggest a ginger cake also.
Here's a traditional american recipe... very easy and very moist.

I'm making a bungt cake without fruit, most of the family don't want "heavy" cake, another cake will be one using advocaat which will be iced to retain moisture
