Gmail Account Will Not Open

Mr A has done something to his gmail account and is panicking. It won't open completely, it get half way and freezes, this is the opening bar.

When he was last in his email he was downloading something and it downloaded successfully. But now trying to open again, it just won't.
We are using google chrome and I am on the verge of creating a new email account for him, but he needs his work and car stuff.

Can anybody throw any light on what has happened??

I cannot find a contact number for google.
