Welcome to Title Builder Beta.

This small piece of kit is designed to make building your Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle question more effective. It should make finding your question easier for others and, the easier it is to find, the more likely someone is to answer it!

To build an easy to find question title simply select the paper and quiz, enter the quiz number if relevant and fill in the Publication Date. Once you’re happy click “Build Title” and the information should populate the Title field. Fill in the final required details of your question as you normally would, and click submit.

As this is a Beta we only have a limited number of papers and quizzes listed. If you think your favourite Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle should be listed here don’t hesitate to contact us.

I have made slow and steady progress but am a few answers away.

I did enter the answers I know in the grid and most of them fit well.

I need HINT on two to begin with. There is and extra letter in the wordplay.

1. Gag in Edinburgh's to silence almost 2000 English (6)
If this relies on Scottish word for Gag or Silence, I am never going to get it.
Which one is Scottish and how many letters?

2. USB initially prepared with small microchip with unconnected logic circuits (3)
I have the first and third letters but do not know what the answer is. Some kind of abbreviation?

I haven't tried to figure out what to do with extra letters. But I am assuming that all across clues come first and then all down clues.

I almost forgot how 2 worked but "prepared" indicates some culinary term, also meaning: "in the style of".

And yes it's an acronym.

Wheesh is hush! up north... 2000 is a single letter from the medieval Roman numerals, use the Rule of Thumb to search... and it won't take you long to find it.

I have the first letter as U, so I have to find the right acronym.

The extra letters do not make any sense even when arranged in clue order.
Is this song famous? Like by Beatles or another group?

Well, I'd thought it was famous... it's from a musical film. The letters should work in conventional clue order, at least as far as I can see.

ML: To me, BRB means Be Right Back. But don't know how to use that hint.
