Would This Make Me Inconsiderate

At work you are in a meeting with your phone in your pocket, it's vibrating several times but you can't answer. When the meeting is over you look at your phone and see that you pocket texted a random letter and your spouse is like "What The Funicular". They call again, you are able to answer, "What are you doing!!" says the spouse. You get to the car they are yelling, "What are you doing up there that you aren't answering" you reply, "I was in a meeting". Would that make you inconsiderate or was the spouse over exaggerating?

At times when we were at meetings we would be asked to please switch off your mobiles, no you are not inconsiderate.
