Do B&Q (or anybody else's) ultrasonic cat or fox scarers also work for badgers? My Aunty lives n the middle fo a town but is plagued by badgers continually tearing up her lawn and plants at night. Sje wouldn't want to hurt them, even if it was legal to do so, but she would like to persuade them to hold their nocturnal parties elsewhere. I know the scarers work for cats but no one seems to make one for badgers - but the B&Q one says "and other animals" on the box. The question is "which other animals?"
I'm sorry that this isn't a direct answer to your question but I hope that it might help anyway.
This site suggests that preparations containing aluminium ammonium sulphate may be available from garden centres. It's said to be foul-tasting but not harmful to badgers: http://www.badgers.org.uk/badgerpages/eurasian -badger-57.html
(Alternatively, follow the link to the Badger Tust, to see if someone from a local group can advise you).

Human urine sprinkled liberally puts them off, as well as a PIR light.
I suggest you wee in to a suitable container before sprinkling otherwise the neighbours might have something to say!
