I knew Mrs Doubtfire. She was a real person in Edinburgh. Her name was Madame Doubtfire. She was a friend of my Aunt Daisy. Her name was Isabella Coutts and she married a Captain Doubtfire. She was a VERY wll known character in Edinburgh where she had a VERY smelly clothes shop and a gazillion un-neutered cats. Se was eventually sectioned under the mental health act in, I think, the 80s. She died some time ago.
