Footage of the match on the news showed one of the explosions going off 16 minutes into the match, it's reported that one of them detonated it after being refused entry to the stadium.

How come the match was played to the end and not suspended as soon as word spread what had happened?

How would they explain the situation to the crowd?

Announcing that a suicide bomber had blown himself outside the ground and there may be others inside the stadium would not be the greatest of ideas.
I imagine there was furiuos debate how best to handle the situation.

I used to live in Essex, don't confuse an Essex accent with a estuary/ EastLondon accent.
