There's nothing wrong with lightening any thread with a bit of humour.
'Disinhibition' is a new word to me. I've recently seen its effects without knowing its label.
sandy another phrase you may hear used for the same symptom is "coarsened affect"
Sandy - you know your sister is not well and may have what you already know or suspect. She has been left in your charge whilst having 2 daughters who don't want to know - I think you answered your own question.
I have only just seen the reply directed at me , I don't believe I admonished anyone.

Po faced is the very last thing I am I can assure you.

well divebuddy - laughing at the events of France may not signify you have dementia but one would certainly have a warped sense of humour and chilling to me.
divebuddy wrote:" It's always been that way. There are loads of sick jokes about the events in France. Laughing at them doesn't make you a candidate for dementia."

No it makes you a dick head

My Mother never underwent any investigations for dementia though it often crossed my mind - disinhibition sums her up perfectly and she was hilarious with it.

However it didn't interfere with her life and she remained happy and able to cope until very near the time she died, so I'm glad it was never checked for.

I realise of course that so very many people have a far harder time of it.
divebuddy, you have missed the point. Its not the fact of what a person laughs at but that there is a CHANGE in what a person laughs at.
dibvebuddy wrote " I can only say the same thing to you retrochic."
