Happy "Only-Three-Sleeps-Until-Beaujolais-Nouveau-Day" Day

It's cold and gloomy, but there is something to look forward to this week!

It is one of two days per year that I have to catch up with acquaintances/friends that I had in my 'previous life' before I retired JJ.

Hope yours is as enjoyable as mine will be.

I remember going to the local Auberge for the big celebration of Beaujolais Nouveau. It was a really good evening - but I thought the wine was very poor and 'thin'. So I didn't bother after that, except as a jolly good excuse for a party!

Ive just been checking out Blue Nun. Apparently, for 30 years, it was the biggest selling wine in the world.

Nowadays, it's made with a different grape, a cross between Riesling and Gutedel. I like Riesling.

Apparently they are also introducing some other varietal wines such as Sauvignon Blanc, and Pinot Noir.

'Blue Nun' was referred to by a German friend of mine as 'Engel ***' (not sure of the spelling, but you get the idea!).

Of COURSE I have a beret!

I also have a Breton top, and a black skirt, although I don't think I'm going to wear them. Just the beret.
