Be honest, who has or has been tempted to scratch a badly parked car?!

I was very tempted today at my local shopping centre. This idiot had reversed in right next to me over onto my line so there was a tiny space to get my baby in his seat. I had to force his mirror to open the door and just had enough room to get him in. Thankfully I hadn't taken him out in the actual car seat unless I would have had no chance. Of course the driver of the other car had made sure there was plenty of room at his/her side for them to get out easily. Why are some people such thoughtless morons when you can clearly see child seats in the back? I so could have scratched the car in annoyance but couldn't bring myself to do it after someone did it to me (and not because I was badly parked). Have you ever done it to someone?

This happened to me today. me, my neice and her daughter-off to the next sale- huge amount of stress manouvering a buggie around the shop. Got back to car and some burk had parked at a diagonal. no chance of getting baby in. the bloke was still in the car, looked about 12 by the way. me and my neice gave him the dirtiest looks, i made a big deal of having to carry her in the other door and get over the seat to strap her in. he did weakily say sorry! why did he not reverse and straighten up- twit!AHHHHH!

I think it's well known that people leave their brains at home when they get behind the wheel of a car.

Countless times I've been unable to get the door of a car open due to others careless parking.

And don't get me started on people who think it's ok to park their vehicles on the pavement leaving little or no room for pedestrians to get by. For them, yes, a key dragged along the paintwork is the least they get!

tigwg - I've never done that and I don't think I could, but I never cease to be amazed at the selfishness of some parkers - going across two spaces, parking in disabled bays etc. My old mum had some labels done " you have my parking bay, would you like my disability too" which she used to slap on the windscreen of offending cars.... I have to confess though that I don't look inside other people's cars so I would not have seen your baby seat, and loads of people (like my neighbours) have a seat for the grandchild which is only used once a week. I wouldn't consider that seeing a seat automatically means that a baby is in the shop. But I do share your frustration, I am not as nimble as I was and squeezing into a tiny space of open door, because the next person hasn't left space, is really irritating.

it certainly don't deserve keying someones car - just leave a snotty note for them telling that they have a flat tyre or 2

Tempting as it might be, you would be very foolish to do so. It would equate to criminal damage, which would land you in court.

Someone I know had their car damaged in a supermarket car park and the perpetrator didn't leave their details. Someone had seen them do it and took their number, which was passed on to the owner of the damaged car, who successfully claimed for the damage.

I do agree that many people of both sexes can't manage to park a car. What annoys me are the owners of Chelsea Tractors who seem to think that they just don't own the road, but two parking spaces as well.

i have heard of a woman who, like you, had parked in a standard space at a shopping centre and returned to find it difficult (note difficult, not impossible) to get her baby carrier into the car due to a car a bit too close to hers.

She actually took great delight at telling friends about how she keyed the car along its full length, Not happy with that she actually went through the boot of her car looking for something to do more substantial damage. She actually found a screwdriver in the boot and took out a lifetimes worth of frustration (it seems) on the side of this other car.

why?? Leave a note if you want to vent your anger!

There is no excuse for such acts of deliberate vandalism.
Some scumball keyed my car once, when it was legitimately parked on my girlfriend's garage forecourt, well out of everyone's way. If there was any justice in this world decent folk wouldn't have to share a planet with folk capable of doing that sort of thing.

How do you know they didn't park like that because the person next to them was badly parked?

I've had to park badly because the car next to me was over the line. Return to the car and they have gone making my car look like it's badly parked..!

We keep very sticky labels and a black marker in the car...we leave messages stuck to their windscreen... they have the inconvenience of cleaning it off but no damage done and it makes you feel a whole lot better...

I know the car originally next to me was parked fine and so were the other cars nearby, the badly parked car was the only new car. I wasn't very long in the centre. Strangely enough it never occured to me to put my baby in at the other side but this would have been very difficult as I would have had to clamber over 2 other toddler seats with hardly any room whilst holding a wriggly baby and not really the point.

Believe it or not but I've had the same thing happen in the disbled parking area,I mean you can park a tank in most disabled bays and hold a tea party on either side and this *** was well over the lives on my side and about 5ft of space on the other. If Trish hadn't been able to get into the car god knows how long I'd have been stuck there as I need to have the door nearly fully open to get in.If Trish hadn't forced me to get in and go I'd have waited awhile and treated the shoppers to the sight of a couple of crips indulging in a spot of parking rage having said that I never dreamed of damaging the car.
