We have just bought a new HP computer and all is working well accept that although it is set up as English (United Kingdom), we still have no pound sign and the @ and ' are 'swapped'!!! Does anyone know how to reinstate these please? Thank you.
You have to change the regional settings to UK. Start > settings > control panel > Regional and Language options > languages > details... > ensure English (United Kingdom) is the default. Whilst your at it, ensure everything is set to UK in this control panel option.
Thanks j2b, but they are all set to English (UK), so I can't understand why I should still not be able to get the pound sign, and the @ and " are still transposed!
Since I posted my last answer, i have had a look at Regional and Language settings again and there was an advanced option that wasn't available before. 'Language for non-Unicode programs' is there and I have now changed that too and it has sorted the problem!
