Guitar Hero

Thanks to everyone who answered my query. I now have another question.
The latest version of Guitar Hero states it's for Wii U, we only have Wii and as my grandson will be playing it at our house (his father doesn't want one round there) I looked at previous versions and some state Wii but in the tabs at the top state Wii U. Can anyone confirm whether earlier versions are definitely for Wii?
