getting rid of a garden pond

I'm about to move into a new house with a garden pond (complete with fish). I have a young child and so want to get rid of the pond. Can anyone tell me if there are companies who can do this for me? I'd like to fill it in to create a sand pit or flower bed.

Thanks

i would put an advert in your local paper or newsagent's.

somebody will take the fish from you for there own ponds??

if you're near watford i'll take the fish, if only a few.

local garden centers do top soil and sand in large quantities to fill the pond in.

sand pit sand is not the same as building/garden center sand. you can buy specific stuff for the little darlings to play with.

If you want to fill it in, dont forget to make some drainage holes first, otherwise it will steadily fill up with rain water and you will end up with a 'bog garden'.
