Surely the fun in doing crosswords is working out the clues yourself instead of bombarding AB every weekend?

When I do find the answer in that situation I either kick myself for being so stupid or marvel at the crossword setter for being so devious.

It may be regarded by some as cheating, but the submission of clues here does provide entertainment and challenge to Ab's cruciverbalists.

Quite Canary , I do occasionally wonder why some have reached the end of their tether with the days clues before I have even switched on AB - but doubtless they have things to do with the rest of their day.

Crosswords are ephemeral and knowing how clues work helps for next time.
