I think my cat is turning into Lassie
The other night my mobile was in the other room, a text message came in but I didn't hear it. He suddenly came running up to me, jumped on me and miaowed, jumped off, miaowed again, went out the door, then came back in and kept repeating this. He did it 4 times. I eventually stood up at which point he ran out of the room, stopped, turned to look at me and miaowed again then ran into the other room and jumped on to the table right next to my mobile and nudged it with his head!
He did almost the exact same thing last night except then it was to tell me his water bowl was empty. Is this normal behaviour for a cat or does he think he's a dog?? I'd be really interested to know if anyone else's cat does similar things.

i think your cat sounds cute if it does things like that with out you having to train it!
do you have a dog aswell? maybe its copying the dog in some ways?
I don't have a dog. I got Sam from a rescue centre about 8 months ago, as far as I know he was a stray before that. I think its lovely that he does this - I'm very proud of him! Maybe he was a dog in a past life - he lies like a dog sometimes, with his front legs stretched out in front of him!
missjef, that is so sweet. Sam loves to have things thrown for him which he does his best to catch in mid air but he doesn't bring them back, he just catches it, puts it on the floor, then looks at me as if to say "well come on - throw it again"!
All of their albums are good. My favorites are Mr. Bungle and Disco Volante. Other patton projects include:
Tomahawk, Fantomas, and Peeping Tom. He has also worked with many other artists. Check this site. Patton is definitely one of my favorite musicians.
