Dunno - but I have just found a brilliant aid for crispy frozen chips. I bought it at Dunelm recently, it is a mesh tray - you spread you chips on it, the heat goes through and crisps all surfaces. It's great and I reckon it is going to save me money because if you leave them for the stated time they get burnt. I think it was £1.99. :)

Try Fries To Go (microwave fries).

Quite expensive for a small box, they are 'skinny fries' rather than chips - but they are quick, convenient, crispy and (IMO) rather tasty.

If you do give 'em a go, cook for less time than stated on the box - they turn out hard and horrible if you give them their full time.
