Took Smoke the Mog to the cattery today (we're moving house on Tuesday). I didn't expect him to look completely dejected but I didn't think that when he got there, he'd head straight to the biscuits then to bed without so much as a backward glance.
He could have pretended he's miss us.

Cat asstrophe!
LOL wait till you go to pick him up and he still ignores you! One of my cats acts like she's never seen me before in her life and ignores me for 2 days when she comes back from the cattery. They are deliberately hurtful (cats anyway).

Oh, I get that, Prudie. Last time, he turned his back on me everytime I got near him for a week.
Cats are al me me me - you're just the feeder, get a dog, they just love you so much
We dog people do well not to comment on moggies according to my 4 cat daughter and her partner.
I guess that seadogg, I've never had cats but the younger family do, it leaves me wondering why? they're moody, go away for days, a dog will sit by you no matter what. I'm never asked to look after the moggy when the kids are away, I wonder why????

I've never known an animal sulk like the Dobie we lost about 12 yrs back, he'd come back from kennels, walk into the lounge, flop down in front of the patio doors with his feet on the frame and just stare down the garden for hours, we did notice as it was getting dark he would use the reflection in the window to see what we were doing. We could get his dinner and still be ignored, it was only when much later we opened the kitchen bin and started to (slowly) scrape his grub into it would he suddenly appear in the kitchen and start eating, after that he was our dog again.
That's brilliant baldric... he was a sulky child letting you know he was not happy... clever too :}

We've had dogs in the family-usually boxers. Boy can they sulk!
My cat (dead now) was my cat, he didn't really entertain anyone else. When we used to go away he would completely blank me when we got back. He'd flaunt the fact he was letting other people stroke while staring at me like he wanted me to die.

I loved that cat.
My little pussycat used to be even more clingy when she came back from the cattery - I think she was worried I would go off and leave her again and she never sulked. She behaved more like a dog than a cat.
My cats have never been to a cattery. We've always had someone stay here. He still blanked me though...

Lets face it. Whatever we do as cat slaves, we're always in the wrong.
I thought of you today Messalina, I was watching Loose Women and they were on about best pets, dogs came out on top until they showed the clip where a dog went to attack a toddler and the cat came out to protect the child by chasing the dog away.
what idiot video’d that instead of intervening?
That came to my mind also
