A taxi driver who can make a bit of decent conversation is worth a Tip, even when his views are diametricall y opposite from my own.

I did start answering like Baldric, then I remembered my lovely refuse guy... I just look and think, he's about same age as my grandson, my grandson is a hard worker, pops in some days for lunch and loves telling me of some regular customer has given him a tip, he goes out of his way to help them better than his job description next time
If I start with the grocery, I'll be broke for Christmas, I shop online sometimes, my chemist deliver my meds, my gp secretaries always fit me in and even send gp over to me if necessary within 2 hours and I have a regular nurse comes to me, they all know I appreciate them, yet, they are the ground people, the likes of hairdressers, I can only say, that grandson may have treated me to my hairdo, I borrow for taxi to get there and the hair stylist is tan from a week in abu dhabi or somewhere else far removed so.. not the hairstylist
I didn't read the hairdresser thread.
I tip the girls who wash and/or dry my hair, but not the guy who cuts it. I also tip the window cleaner, postman, waiters and taxi drivers.
It may seem unfair that some people get tips and some equally low paid people don't, but that's just how it goes. I don't get tipped in my job, but for some it's just expected.
