People queuing at midnight to see a film that's been regurgitated over and over again already

Am I the only one who doesn't get what all the fuss is about?

I've never seen one...my nephew saw it a midnight though and loved it.
I saw the first one on the Champs-Élysées, in 1977 English with French subtitles -and fell asleep about 20 minutes in -never seen any more but my SIL got dressed up for a premier last night at midnight and it looks like everyone in the family will be going to see it over the holidays -(except me by choice) I will sit at home and watch 'Lost Xmas' instead.
After seeing the 'dinky' type card models being filmed at Pinewood Studios in 1980s I lost all interest.

Not at all joeluke, there are many of us massing behind the second moon intent on remaining sane and normal. We're ready to emerge as a force when lovers of children's stories have to go to bed.
You're not alone. I can't fathom how mature grownups can be reduced to teens again when one of these movies comes out.
Just got in from the Star Wars film with my son and his pal. Brilliant!!We three loved it. It was never meant to be a cerebral experience from day 1. We are going again next week.

Pfft, what's wrong with being in touch with your inner child now and again?
The whole point is that it's not child's play, jim360, it's big business!
Doesn't interest me at all ...
