I remember being mesmerised by his chin when watching whatever it was that he was muttering on abut. He was ancient then (to me) but he was probably in his thirties or so.
I will not easily forget the spectacular St George's Cross bow tie that he sported on the BBC during coverage one of England's many ill-fated international tournaments

It's sad, especially that he had Alzeimers disease. He was always a big part of my childhood memories even though I'm not a football fan.
Yes........on old school footballer.....he argued against the necessity for that odious modern habit of "spitting"................

I haven't heard of any allegations about him. Thankfully not all men were pervs in the 70s.
Heard this on the radio. Not a sports fan, but he was a part of my childhood. He never seemed to be off the tele at one time.
My Uncle Lol will be there to greet him. They knew each other in the 50's, though never played together.
I wonder how Paul Whitehouse is feeling? His football pundit, Ron Manager, on The Fast Show was obviously meant to be Jimmy.

Of all his achievements I think that getting the authorities to
change the 2 points for a win to 3 was his legacy.
And being mainly responsible for abolishing the wages cap of £20 pw on footballers.
