Arrrgh - I've Burnt The Rice

i'm trying to cook sticky/sweet/glutinous rice but dont have a steamer so went for the boil in a pan on the hob method and burnt it.
i dont want to steam it but has anyone been successful in this? (no not burning it lol)
and yes i know i can get it from the chinese!

Yes, I have a few times. As long as you have the right rice and cook it by the "absorption method", you should end up with a good result.
It really needs a heavy-duty/thick pan and a very-low heat - I think your heat was too high to burn it.

thanks gingejbee that was one of the sights i had looked at. I think the heat may have been too high.
How exactly do you do yours?

anna...just as it says in that link for "stove method" using a heavy cast pan (Le Creuset) and the lowest gas possible. Good luck next time!
