Word To Describe Something Needed ...
17 Answers
is there a word to describe when you post something online, an opinion that merely mentions or highlights that there is another way to look at an issue - and someone leaps in, seemingly furious, and instead of addressing what you have said, starts saying things like - well if you are against the death penalty, you must support murderers and rapists etc, and like that they kill people and probably want to kill people yourself.
or is you say that if for instance you use make up - you probably support animal testing and love watching bunnies tortured etc
you get the idea ... a ludicrous and bizarre leap that defies any logic, that is sort of a personal attack, that does nothing to help the discussion
is there a particular word to describe the sort of person who cannot discuss things without feeling the need to do this...?
thanks

tambo they are all those things - but it doesn't really describe what they do.
how and why someone leaps to the biggest most ludicrous outcome at the drop of a hat, worst case scenario level - but actually believes that what theyre saying is a reasonable and logical argument and that they have 'won' or soemthing ... when it actually makes no sense and is not even worth addressing
